I'm more concerned about the future of the club. All donations must go to pay off the debts . Otherwise it won't matter who we sign .
Let's play local lads even if we go down. Player and coaching budget has to be slashed
Welsh rugby has to look it self in the mirror. Clubs cannot keeping paying players with support dwindling, clubs not selling beer and no sponsors . The odd club has rich benefactor but that won't last and is not self sustaining
Many clubs will go out of existence in the next few years that's a fact and we could be one of them ..

I think it isnt just us but welsh rugby as a whole. There is NO money in the game. It is not sustainable to rely on a few people to bank roll things. I have a friend who played international hockey. He paid a decent amount of money himself to be able to play. Those that know me know I am involved in touch rugby. I have just paid £25 for league fees for one league. Other leagues require more fees. Every year players that represent their regions or even Wales, pay a LOT of money to be able to do so. Wales entered 4 teams to the world cup in australia in april/june .... they paid for it themselves. My point being, these people play at the highest level that their sport offers, often with similar levels of spectators that we get!!! None of them expect to be paid for it. Similarly if you enter an elite wave of say an obstacle or road race, both of which a hugely popular these days, you pay to do them. Dirty dizen takes place in July and it is over £80 to enter now. With all due respect to the majority of players at championship level, they are NOT elite level players and they are not full time pros with an eye on making a break to the big leagues yet still expect to have a pay cheque.
Clubs can not just magic money out of thin air especially when there is no real prize money for the league, insufficient spectators and minimal sponsorship. I think these problems have been bubbling for a long time but clubs try and keep a lid on it

I think that we need to sort the club out from the top, down. If this means that relegation happens between this being sorted out, then that has to be done. We NEED to keep this club alive on and OFF the field. There are plenty of players up and down this valley that would pull on a Newbridge jersey without holding the club to ransom. Get the club functioning to full capacity on a friday/saturday evening first. We need to support the mini, junior and youth teams in the club as they are the future. Many other clubs up and down the valley have realised that youth is the future and are nurturing the talent and bringing it through first and second teams in order to put teams out every week. By having local players playing for the club we will get friends and family through the gate - the year we came down from the prem we were probably the best supported team around. Local boys who also used the club after the game! It's common sense!! Onwards and upwards!

There were 18 training. We'll try and get some news on who has actually signed ASAP. We are trying to improve communication this season - Twitter and new website to be launched.
Will also try and keep notice boards up to date in the club - for those of you who actually go in there!
Some of the senior committee met up with the mini & junior committee last week and pleased to say we all want same thing. We unanimously agreed to work towards One Club - and as a result the M&J's will take the Youth under their wings - which must be a great relief to the General.
A sub committee to discuss entertainment in the club is having its first meeting this Thursday and will include reps from all sections as we have agreed we need to get people in club, pay off our debts and make the club somewhere we all want to spend time. Happy for any suggestions!

Talking of good news - have you seen how many m&j players are in the dragons u16 squad?! It's amazing and shows the talent we have coming up through the ranks. We lost the last lot to Penalta - let's hope we don't lose all these!!

That is good news. Very important that the relationship with the juniors improves . Let's hope all those boys have a great future in the game preferably in a Newbridge jersey or a senior dragons shirt ..
Thank s Donna for your updates . Good to see , communication is key

Committee meeting held last night;-
Still no chairman, no news on fixtures or players. Still in financial crisis but a few functions coming up in club which we will advertise soon and we all need to support them.
Whole host of DIY type jobs needed round the club and grounds so any volunteers please contact Paul Rogers. Every little bit helps.

No good news then Donna .. It's a difficult situation to try and attract people to get involved after the way it has been run .. Can't believe we are chairman less!!!
The only way we will get the club full again is through hard work , everyone selling a few tickets ..
I notice from your two posts that Paul's name is mentioned . Top bloke Paul and a tremendous worker but he can't do it all
Donna Thanks for the updates .. Hope it's a bit of good news next time
